Weirdest Studebaker

Weirdest Studebaker ever built?

Called the ugliest car ever but is it really? This was 1952 styling and car designers often had an open book to do what they on the photo to see the video.

Nicknamed the Weirdest Studebaker this car known as the Manta Ray is reported to be a 1 off was built in 1952 and became famous for a while.
Originally  painted gold it was built on a Studebaker chassis and powered by a Cadillac V8 this classic custom  reportedly cost $2400 new.
Bought in the late 50’s for $750 it has remained in the same family since then.

The interior is in keeping with the style of the car with a aircraft type steering wheel and a strange  dashboard so crazy it has to be good.
The top is able to be lifted off making it an even more so head turning open 2 seater.

Reputed to be the ugliest ever, but it was 1952 open book styling so you be the judge on this.
