Bonnie & Clyde’s Ford V8 History
At the time Henry Ford developed his flat head V8 and introduced it in 1932 to try and recoup falling sales, little did he realize this car would become an all time classic and be famous as Bonnie & Clyde’s Ford V8 getaway car.
This very interesting video below shows the original footage in the development of the V8 motor, assembly line production and Police history.
This car also became notoriously connected with the outlaws Bonnie & Clyde as the number one car they would steal and always have available as their getaway car.
The Police issue handguns bullets were incapable of penetrating the thick steel body. This and the cars performance allowed them to outrun Police pursuits.
This is quite different to the gangeresters armoured 36 Cadillac I posted earlier, and shows
result of the police ambush and hi power rifles they used to prevent chance of a getaway.
